Hi!
My name is Raul.
I’m so excited you’re here.
GoodGoodDay is the motto I live by, and my goal is to share gratitude through stories with you.
Let’s get to know each other. I’ll go first.
My full name is Raul Benjamin Flores Acosta. I was born in California, USA, but my parents are Mexican. Most of my life has been in the state of Arkansas, USA, except for the time I lived in Mexico and in Liechtenstein. I have two younger sisters who are my best friends, biggest cheerleaders and best counselors. Many of my stories will be related to family and to travel.
A few things I’m interested in:
I love cars, I love design, I like the outdoors, I like being active. Also business and culture are important to me. I’m always curious. Soon I want to take a martial arts class. Also I want to learn to sail. And to dance Salsa.
A few things to consider:
One caveat about this blog is that a lot of the ideas here draw from many different sources. Not all of my thoughts and ideas are original. Certainly you’ve bumped into the things I write here elsewhere.
Surely someone else has thought the thoughts I am writing about. But whether the thoughts have been written down and shared though, that is a different story. I see value in writing these ideas and thoughts down. There’s a chance that what you find here might just be helpful to you.
Jesus at the center of everything.
I am not shy about the fact that I love Jesus. Why? Well, because I have seen Him. Not in the flesh, of course, but yes, in my life, in the most subtle yet vibrant of ways. In every cool and not so cool thing that I have done He is always present.
That level of consistency creates trust, and trust creates hope. It is obvious that our world needs hope, and I am convinced that the best way to bring hope to everyone around me is through the person of Jesus Christ.
I want to encourage you.
Don’t worry, I will not slap you with “JESUS!” in every story. If you have been hurt by someone who claims to be a Christian, I am sorry. I wish that had never happened to you. I wish no pain or hurt had ever happened to you. But I know that pain does happen. It’s happened to me too.
My parents, for example, recently split up. Nevermind the fact that they were pastors. Also, I struggle with my self esteem. That developed because growing up I was very socially awkward. These things are painful. Sometimes things happen that we don’t understand. But we can still be grateful.
It’s all Gratitude!
In this blog I just want to show you that in spite of those sucky things that we don’t understand, it is still possible to find something good. I practice this every day and my life is so much better because of it. If what I write here can make you smile, or make you go “Huh. That was a good story”, well, phew! I am so glad!
I do want to keep things casual. I’m a pretty chill guy. I’m not so sure I’ve outgrown my social awkwardness yet, but, hey, I’m getting better.
Feel free to reach out with any questions you might have. Or, hey, if you wanna buy me a cup of coffee, you can do that too! Maybe one day we can meet in person and I’ll get to hear your stories too. Until then! Cheers!
